Jackson, Wyoming Must-Sees

Jackson, Wyoming is the perfect dot on the map. Sitting just to the South of the Grand Tetons and Yellowstone - this little town is nestled in the midst of some of the most beautiful landscapes that America has to offer. We've spent time and sent clients to Jackson in every single season and have a list our favorite Must-Sees.

JACKSON TOWN SQUARE

Take your family photo under the famous antler arches after grabbing a coffee from Cowboy Coffee. Our favorite restaurant on the main drag, Local, has an amazing Buffalo Burger that you can't miss. Keep your eyes peeled - locals say that Harrison Ford tends to dip in and dine here from time to time! After your burger, be sure to stop into the Million Dollar Cowboy Bar for a beer and be sure to sit in the famous saddle seat up at the bar.

GRAND TETON NATIONAL PARK

Our favorite mountainous national park by FAR! The Grand Tetons have the most stunning and unique silhouette. They jut out of the surrounding flatlands with plenty of natural lakes, trails and rivers to explore. Two of our favorites are Jenny Lake and the Cascade canyon trail. The park itself is so beautiful, just wander around and you'll be totally amazed. Be sure to get into the park early for a better chance of spotting some wildlife!

NATIONAL ELK REFUGE

Wildlife spotting is always on the top of the list when visiting the mountains, but it's hard to guarantee and Grizzly or Moose spotting. The Great Elk Refuge, however is always a guarantee. Every winter the Elk come down off the mountains in search of warmer weather and food. Thousand of Elk roam this protected land and it's really marvelous to see up close. The best part? You get to take a Sleigh pulled by beautiful horses across the snowy field to get a closer view of the Elk. It's also likely you'll spot a Balk Eagle or too! Blanket provided and GREAT family activity for little ones.

ASTORIA HOT SPRINGS

Last on the list is the perfect winter spot to end your trip. When you've been skiing and snowshoeing for the week, your bones are bound to be cold. The best way to warm them up is a quick dip in the natural hot spring. Just south of Jackson, these hot springs are open to the public and are better and more beautiful than any hotel jacuzzi has to offer. We recommend going at sunset! Bring your own bottle of wine and melt away the evening and hop out just as darkness creeps in.

All in all, we are BIG fans of this little town. You are bound to have an amazing week whether you choose to visit in Summer, Spring, Fall or Winter. Give us a call to book your perfect Jackson vacation today!
